Sporobolus virginicus (Seashore Dropseed)
Sporobolus virginicus, commonly known as Seashore Dropseed, is a perennial bunchgrass that is native to coastal areas and sandy beaches. It features fine-textured, green leaves and produces delicate, airy seed heads in late summer. This grass is especially tolerant of salt spray, making it ideal for seaside gardens and dune restorations. Seashore Dropseed provides excellent erosion control and attracts a variety of bird species. It grows up to 3 feet tall and spreads to about 2 feet wide.
