Sambucus nigra (Common/European Elder)

Sambucus nigra, commonly known as the Common or European Elder, is a deciduous shrub that belongs to the Adoxaceae family. It is native to Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. The plant is known for its beautiful clusters of small, creamy white flowers that appear in late spring to early summer, followed by dark purple berries in the fall. The leaves are pinnately compound and have a serrated edge. The Common/European Elder can reach a height of 10-20 feet and has a spread of about 6-12 feet.
