Salix gooddingii (Goodding Black Willow)
The Salix gooddingii, commonly known as Goodding Black Willow, is a deciduous tree native to the Southwestern United States. It has narrow, lance-shaped leaves that are dark green on top and pale green underneath. This tree produces small, inconspicuous flowers in the spring and its branches are very brittle, often breaking off easily. The Goodding Black Willow is typically found along rivers, streams, and wetlands, as it prefers moist soil conditions.
