Rhus microphylla, commonly known as Littleleaf Sumac, is a deciduous shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is characterized by its small, glossy green leaves that turn brilliant shades of orange, red, and purple in the fall. The plant produces clusters of tiny, yellow-green flowers in the spring, followed by clusters of small, red fruit that persist through winter. Littleleaf Sumac is a low-maintenance plant that is drought-tolerant and thrives in full sun to partial shade.
