Picea abies 'Nidiformis' is a dwarf, evergreen conifer with a compact, slow-growing, and dense growth habit. Its branches tightly encircle the trunk, forming a nest-like shape, hence the common name 'Bird's Nest Spruce'. The needles are dark green and short, giving the plant a dense appearance. The small size and unique form of the 'Nidiformis' cultivar make it an excellent choice for rock gardens or small landscapes.
