Physocarpus capitatus (Pacific Ninebark)
Physocarpus capitatus, commonly known as Pacific Ninebark, is a deciduous shrub native to western North America. It is known for its exfoliating bark, which peels away in thin strips, and its attractive clusters of small white flowers that bloom in the spring. The leaves are deeply lobed and green, turning shades of yellow, orange, and red in the fall. Pacific Ninebark can reach a height of 12 feet and a width of 8 to 10 feet.
