Oryzopsis hymenoides (Indian Rice grass)

Oryzopsis hymenoides, commonly known as Indian Rice grass, is a perennial bunchgrass native to western North America. It is an important forage grass and is also valued for its erosion control properties. The plants have narrow bluish-green leaves and in late summer, they produce tall, airy flower spikes that can reach up to 3 feet in height. Indian Rice grass prefers full sun and well-drained soils.
