Oreocereus celsianus (Old Man of the Andes Cactus)
The Old Man of the Andes Cactus, scientifically known as Oreocereus celsianus, is a unique species of cactus native to the Andes mountains. This cactus gets its common name from the long, flowing white hair-like spines that cover its cylindrical stems, giving it the appearance of an old man's beard. With age, the spines turn gray and become more abundant. This cactus blooms with bright pink to purple flowers in spring or early summer, adding a stunning pop of color to its distinctive appearance.
