Orbexilum pedunculatum, commonly known as Sampson's Snakeroot, is a small herbaceous perennial plant that typically grows up to 10 inches in height. It belongs to the legume family (Fabaceae) and is native to the southeastern United States. This plant produces clusters of lavender-pink flowers on slender stalks, which give rise to its name 'pedunculatum' meaning 'with stalks' in Latin. It is a low-growing plant with compound leaves and can be an excellent addition to rock gardens or along the edges of borders.
