Opuntia microdasys (Yellow Bunny Ears Cactus)
Opuntia microdasys, commonly known as Yellow Bunny Ears Cactus, is a small cactus native to Mexico. It is characterized by its distinctive appearance, featuring yellow fuzzy pads that resemble bunny ears. The pads are covered in glochids, which are small hair-like spines that easily embed in the skin, so caution should be exercised when handling. This cactus produces small yellow flowers in spring, followed by edible red fruits. It grows up to 1-2 feet tall and spreads about 3-4 feet wide.
