Opuntia macrocentra, commonly known as Ling Spined Prickly Pear Cactus, is a species of cactus native to southwestern and central Texas in the United States and northeastern Mexico. It is a small to medium-sized cactus with stems that grow in a sprawling or bushy habit. The stems are covered in spines, ranging from long and bristly to short and inconspicuous. The cactus produces vibrant yellow flowers with red centers in late spring or early summer, followed by small edible fruits.
