Opuntia echinocarpa (Gold Cholla Cactus)

Opuntia echinocarpa, commonly known as Gold Cholla Cactus, is a species of cactus native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is characterized by its cylindrical branches covered in golden spines. This slow-growing, highly ornamental cactus grows in clumps and can reach a height of up to 8 feet. In late spring, it produces vibrant yellow flowers that attract pollinators.
