Ochagavia fascicularis (Cardoncillo Bromeliad)
The Ochagavia fascicularis, commonly known as Cardoncillo Bromeliad, is a species of bromeliad native to Chile. It is characterized by its rosette of narrow, stiff leaves that are edged with sharp spines. The leaves are usually green or bluish-green in color and form a dense, compact rosette. In the center of the rosette, a tall stalk rises with bright orange-red flowers that attract hummingbirds. The plant can reach a height of about 2 feet and a width of 2-3 feet.
