Mitella diphylla (Bishop's Cap, Mitrewort)

Mitella diphylla, commonly known as Bishop's Cap or Mitrewort, is a small herbaceous perennial native to eastern North America. It gets its common name from the shape of its delicate white flower clusters, which resemble the caps worn by bishops. This plant has deeply divided leaves that give it an attractive fern-like appearance. It generally grows to a height of 6 to 12 inches and spreads about 6 to 9 inches wide.
