Mazus radicans (Creeping Mazus)
Mazus radicans, commonly known as Creeping Mazus, is a low-growing perennial plant native to temperate regions of New Zealand. It forms a dense mat of small, rounded leaves and produces delicate, 5-petaled, purple-blue flowers in the summer. This plant is excellent as a ground cover, especially in areas with moist soil and partial shade. It is deer resistant and attracts butterflies and bees. Creeping Mazus typically grows to a height of 2-3 inches and spreads to a width of about 12-18 inches.
