The Lonicera japonica 'Purpurea', commonly known as the Purpleleaf Honeysuckle Vine, is a vigorous, deciduous climbing plant with dark purple leaves and highly fragrant white flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. The leaves turn green in hot climates, but will flush back to purple in cooler temperatures. This vine is a great addition to a trellis or arbor and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. It can reach a height of 10-15 feet and a width of 5-7 feet.
