The Swamp Cypress (Glyptostrobus linea/hetero/pens/sinensis) is a deciduous conifer tree that is native to swamps and wetlands. It has a narrow, pyramidal shape with feathery, soft green foliage that turns orange-brown in the fall before dropping. The branches are arranged in flat sprays, giving the tree a unique appearance. Swamp cypresses can grow up to 50-70 feet in height and have a spread of about 20-30 feet. They are commonly found in USDA hardiness zones 5-9.
