Fouquieria columnaris (Boojum)
The Fouquieria columnaris, also known as the Boojum, is a unique and intriguing plant native to the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. It belongs to the family Fouquieriaceae and is characterized by its tall, slender trunk that can reach heights of up to 60 feet. The branches at the top of the trunk form a distinct crown of small, spiny leaves. This plant has adapted to harsh desert conditions and can store water in its trunk. It produces small pinkish flowers during the summer.
