Ficus elastica (Banyan, Rubber Fig/Bush)

Ficus elastica, commonly known as the Banyan or Rubber Fig/Bush, is a species of evergreen tropical tree native to Southeast Asia. It is part of the Moraceae family and is known for its large, leathery, glossy leaves and aerial roots that can grow into secondary trunks. The Banyan tree is often cultivated as an indoor plant due to its tolerance for low light conditions. It can grow quite large if given enough space and is popular for its ornamental value and air-purifying abilities.
