Fagus americana (American/White/Red Beech)

Fagus americana, commonly known as American Beech, White Beech, or Red Beech, is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It has a smooth, light gray bark and dark green leaves that turn a beautiful golden bronze in the fall. The tree produces small spiky fruits called beech nuts that are a food source for a variety of wildlife.
