Ephedra viridis (Green Ephedra, Mormon Tea, Mountain Joint Fir)

Ephedra viridis, commonly known as Green Ephedra or Mormon Tea, is an evergreen shrub native to arid regions of western North America. It has slender, green jointed stems and scale-like leaves. The plant produces inconspicuous flowers and small yellow-green berries. Green Ephedra is commonly used for its medicinal properties and has a long history of traditional use by Native American tribes.
