Thorny Silverthorn (Elaeagnus pungens), also known as Silverthorn or Thorny E, is an evergreen shrub that belongs to the Elaeagnaceae family. It is native to eastern Asia and has become naturalized in parts of North America. This plant is known for its thorny branches and attractive silver, olive-shaped leaves. It produces small, fragrant, and inconspicuous flowers in the fall and small red fruits in the winter. It can reach a height of 10-15 feet with a similar spread.
