Danthonia californica, commonly known as California oat grass, is a species of perennial grass native to California and Oregon. It has a clumping form, with narrow, arching leaves that are green in color. In early summer, it produces feathery seed heads that age to a golden color, adding visual interest to the landscape. This grass prefers wetland habitats and is often found in streambanks, meadows, and marshes.
