Clethra alnifolia, commonly known as Coastal Sweet Pepperbush Summersweet, is a deciduous shrub native to eastern North America. It is known for its clusters of sweetly scented, white or pink flowers that bloom in late summer. The plant has glossy, dark green leaves that turn a beautiful golden yellow in the fall. It grows in a dense, upright form and is an excellent choice for attracting butterflies and other pollinators to the garden.
