Clerodendrum trichotomum, commonly known as Glory Bower or Harlequin, is a deciduous shrub native to East Asia. It features large, heart-shaped leaves that are dark green on top and purplish-red underneath. In late summer, clusters of fragrant white flowers with showy red and purple calyxes appear, attracting butterflies and bees. The plant produces small, bright blue fruits in the fall.
