Cercidium praecox, commonly known as Sonoran Palo Verde, is a thorny deciduous tree that belongs to the legume family. This tree is native to the Sonoran Desert region of Arizona, California, and Mexico. It has a distinctive green-gray trunk and branches which are covered in small spines. During spring, the tree produces vibrant yellow flowers that attract pollinators. The Sonoran Palo Verde can reach a height of 15-30 feet with a spread of 20-30 feet.
