Castanopsis cuspidata, commonly known as Copper False Chestnut, is a tree species native to East Asia. It belongs to the Fagaceae family and is closely related to the true chestnuts. This medium-sized tree features glossy, dark-green leaves that turn a beautiful copper color in autumn. The Copper False Chestnut produces small flowers in long catkins, followed by spiny bur-like fruits containing edible nuts.
