Barbacenia purpurea (Purple Vellozia)

Barbacenia purpurea, commonly known as Purple Vellozia, is a grassy perennial plant with star-shaped purple flowers. It is part of the Velloziaceae family and is native to the grasslands of Brazil. This plant has narrow, grass-like leaves and produces clusters of small, vibrant purple flowers that attract pollinators. It typically grows to a height of around 1 to 2 feet and spreads to a width of about 1 to 1.5 feet.
