Aristida stricta (Wiregrass)

Aristida stricta, commonly known as Wiregrass, is a warm-season perennial grass native to North America. It is a bunchgrass with slender stems reaching up to 3 feet tall. Wiregrass gets its name from the wiry appearance of its leaves, which are light green and can have a bluish tint. It is often found in open pine forests and prairies and is an important component of many natural ecosystems. Its deep root system makes it highly drought-tolerant and it is an excellent choice for erosion control.
