Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 'Emerald Carpet' (Bearberry/Kinnikinick)

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 'Emerald Carpet', commonly known as Bearberry or Kinnikinick, is a low-growing evergreen shrub that forms a dense mat of leathery, glossy green leaves. It produces small pink or white urn-shaped flowers in the spring followed by red berries in the summer. This plant is often used as a groundcover in rock gardens or slopes due to its ability to tolerate poor soils and harsh conditions. It is also attractive to wildlife and can provide erosion control. It reaches a height of 6-12 inches and spreads up to 3-6 feet.
