Arctostaphylos nevadensis, commonly known as Pinemat Manzanita, is a small evergreen shrub native to the mountains of North America. It has a compact and bushy growth habit, with dense foliage and attractive reddish-brown bark. The leaves are leathery and glossy, with a dark green color. In spring, it produces small clusters of white or pink flowers, followed by small red berries that persist into winter.
