Arctostaphylos edmunds'Carmel Sur' (Bearberry/Kinnikinick)

Arctostaphylos edmunds'Carmel Sur' is a low-growing evergreen shrub with dense, spreading branches. It is commonly known as Bearberry or Kinnikinick. The plant features small, leathery leaves that are dark green in color and are accompanied by clusters of small, pink or white bell-shaped flowers in spring. The flowers are followed by red berries that persist throughout the winter. This plant is an excellent groundcover option for sunny, dry areas and is known for its ability to tolerate poor soil conditions and drought. It reaches a height of 6-12 inches and spreads up to 4-8 feet.
