Aralia elata (Devil's Walkingstick)
Aralia elata, commonly known as Devil's Walkingstick, is a tall, spiny deciduous shrub or small tree that can reach a height of 10 feet. It features large compound leaves with up to 50 leaflets and produces small white flowers in large, domed clusters in late summer. The plant gets its name from the sharp thorns that cover its trunk and branches, making it difficult to navigate through. It is native to Japan and Korea and is often planted as an ornamental species in gardens due to its unique appearance.
