Amelanchier ovalis, commonly known as Snowy Mespilus or Serviceberry, is a deciduous shrub or small tree that belongs to the Rosaceae family. It typically grows up to 4-8 meters tall and has an upright, rounded shape. The leaves are oval-shaped and serrated, turning from green to yellow-orange in the fall. In the spring, it produces clusters of fragrant white flowers, followed by small, edible purplish-black berries in the summer.
