Amelanchier laevis, also known as Allegheny Serviceberry, is a deciduous shrub or small tree that belongs to the Rosaceae family. It is native to North America and can be found from Quebec to Alabama. The plant produces beautiful white flowers in the spring, followed by small edible fruits that are similar to blueberries. In the fall, the leaves turn a stunning combination of orange, red, and yellow. The Allegheny Serviceberry can reach a height of 15-25 feet and has a spread of about 10-15 feet.
