Althaea officinalis (Marsh Mallow)
Althaea officinalis, commonly known as Marsh Mallow, is a herbaceous perennial plant. It has a tall stature with a pubescent stem and large, round leaves. The flowers are pink or white, and they bloom in late summer or early autumn. Historically, the roots of Marsh Mallow were used for medicinal purposes and the plant had culinary uses as well. It is commonly found in damp areas such as marshes and riverbanks.
