Alnus glutinosa (Black Alder, European Alder)

Alnus glutinosa, commonly known as Black Alder or European Alder, is a deciduous tree that belongs to the Betulaceae family. It is native to Europe and parts of Asia. The tree has a medium growth rate and can reach a height of 50 feet with a spread of 30 feet. It has dark green, oval-shaped leaves that turn yellow in autumn. The tree also produces yellowish-brown male catkins and cone-like fruits.
