The Aesculus glabra, commonly known as the Ohio Buckeye, Fetid Buckeye, or Horsechestnut, is a medium to large deciduous tree that can grow up to 20-40 feet tall. It is native to the eastern and central United States. The Ohio Buckeye has compound leaves with 5-7 leaflets and produces showy yellow-green flowers in spring. The tree also bears fruit in the form of a spiny husk containing shiny brown seeds. The Ohio Buckeye is often planted for its beautiful fall foliage.
