Acacia erioloba (Giraffe/Camel Thorn)

Acacia erioloba, also known as Giraffe/Camel Thorn, is a large, deciduous tree native to southern Africa. It is characterized by its distinctively shaped flat, umbrella-like crown and dark grey, fissured bark. The tree produces dense clusters of yellow, puffball-shaped flowers that appear in the spring, attracting various pollinators. Giraffe/Camel Thorn can grow to a height of 10-20 meters and has a spread of 5-10 meters.
